Santoro, MarkStatement of Mark Santoro
Candidate for Member, Cuperl:ino City Council
Occupation: Incumbent Age: 52
In the United States we are supposed to have a government of the
people, by the people, and for the people. In -the City of Cupertino we
must do a better job on the "for the people" p;~rt.
Last election I promised the citizens of Cupertino that I would:
1) Slow condo developments; 2) Address the 2nd floor ratio issue our
citizens had problems with; 3) Keep the library open more hours; and
4) Work on traffic congestion around our excellent schools. During my
two years on the Council my first three goals have been achieved.
While the City Council allocated money to help with traffic around the
schools, more still needs to be done. I will continue to work for a
Walk/Bike/Carpool to School program that hopefully will relieve
traffic congestion.
Our elected officials need to remember th~it they are the servants of
the people and not the other way around. Government should be open
and transparent. If you re-elect me to our City Council I pledge to
continue to work "for the people."
