Sinks, RodStatement of ROD SINKS, Candidate for
Member, Cupertino City Council
Occupation: High -Tech Executive
Education and Qualifications:
Cupertino is home to great schools and open spaces, a wonderful, diverse
community, and so many individuals who have sparked innovation and
sustained waves of prosperity in Silicon Valley. As a 24 -year resident of
Cupertino, I've worked to support our schools, build youth programs as a
Scoutmaster and YMCA leader, and protect our environment as a founder of
Bay Area for Clean Environment. Following graduate school at Stanford, I've
helped grow two high -tech startups from infancy to successful businesses as an
engineering leader.
I will continue support for our schools because our kids will enter the
workforce in an increasingly globalized, competitive world, and we need to
attract and retain the best teachers. As Apple populates its new campus and
vacates existing buildings, I will work to attract the next wave of innovative
companies to expand our tax base. I will work for better air and water by
pushing regulatory bodies to do their jobs to ensure that the local cement plant
gets in compliance with all state and federal laws.
Excellent schools, new businesses and a better environment yield a great
place to live and work, and support high property values. I'd appreciate your
vote on November 8.
