Jerry Liu
Candidate Statement for Jerry Liu
Occupation: Engineering Manager, Library Commission Chair
Age: 47
I grew up in a family that didn’t have much, but my parents gave me the gift of appreciation for
education and hard work. My wife Jennifer and I settled in Cupertino so our daughters can live in a
community that shares these values.
As an engineering manager who holds 20+ patents and oversees global projects at a Fortune 100 tech
company, I’ve led teams to solve complex problems, held people accountable, and gotten things done. As
Chair of the Cupertino Library Commission and President of Lincoln Elementary School Site Council, I’ve
protected library services and advocated for parents. As a board member of Bay Area for Clean
Environment, I’ve fought for public health against environmental pollution. I received Cupertino’s 2016
CREST Award for my volunteer contributions. And as a father, I feel the passion that drives parents to
provide the very best for their children.
I’m fiscally disciplined and fair-minded. If elected, I’ll prioritize investments that improve everyday life
for residents, including schools, traffic, environment, and parks. I can work with both sides in a
disagreement, and I'm honored to have earned the support from three of the five current city
councilmembers. I respectfully ask for your vote. Please visit http://www.JerryLiu.com
