I attend the Jollyman DOLA almost daily and now Linda Vista as well in the mornings. Over the past year I have seen a real need for a few benches at Jollyman. We are there for a little over an hour. In the winter, right after sunset, it is very dark. I think I lost 10 balls after hours and we all have to put light collars on our dogs to be able to see them well. I understand that lights back there might be an issue to residents living up against the fence and running electricity would be pretty expensive. I am suggesting Dog Park Solar Lighting. They are much cheaper. It is not just a luxury, I believe it is also a safety issue. We cannot tell who is approaching in the dark. https://endurancelights.com/products/90w-solar-outdoor-light-google? utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=12343917761&utm_content=112978089250&utm_term=&gadid=498654785185&gclid=Cj0KCQiA6fafBhC1ARIsAIJjL8kLTol62TSpaJNrnpQXggOT9dLyU_jkmr1o_IFG9OE15rZaeyxWCVQaAtHAEALw_wcB This one is for info but cheaper ones can be found. https://www.sepco-solarlighting.com/blog/why-solar-lighting-systems-are-the-best-option-for-parks-and-recreation I suggest the first one because it is shorter. I think a short light under 6 ft so that neighbors do not complain would be ideal. One with either switch that the last person can turn off or one with a sensor. RE: the Dark Skies ordinance, this would only be for an hour after sunset and then turned off. Lights would be in the few thousands range. I urge you to consider lights and benches minimally for Jollyman Park. Thank you for your consideration, Tessa Parish From:Liang Chao To:City Clerk Subject:Written Communication for 3/1 Council meeting - city property Date:Wednesday, March 1, 2023 3:18:23 PM Please enter this into the written communication for the 3/1 meeting. A resident told me that the city purchased that property a few years ago. Please include that in the list of properties the city own for discussion so we have a complete list. Thanks! You can see it on the right hand side right before you enter the parking lot of Blackberry farm.
