The following items were discussed:
o Trees
o 9 trees will be removed in the landscaped parking islands
o Review number and location of trees for replacement
o replanting will be done in the proposed new parking islands with larger
trees, hedges and planters will also be installed around the restaurants,
Stevens Creek Boulevard and the parkways
o some ofthe existing trees are not healthy
o Traffic Study
o A traffic analysis has not been done. Public Works would like a
preliminary traffic study to be conducted
o The number of proposed parking spaces exceeds the Master
Development requirements
o Provide better pedestrian connections
o Bus stop feasibility in front of restaurants
o Air Quality
o "smell abatement" measures will be under taken by the use of an odor
filtration system
o Additional Discussion
o Architectural aesthetics ofthe building's designs (to blend in with the
rest of the City)
o The applicant is leasing the land /Tom Sears, so will need to include
them in discussions concerning the parking areas

The following items were discussed:
o Trees
o 3 trees were proposed to be removed and replaced
o The committee asked for a review of the construction plan so that the
trees, particularly the pine, could be saved
o Hazardous Materials
o The hazardous materials on site are not a danger to the public
o The Cal Water employees on site have safety equipment, even though
the contact with the chemicals is minimal
o The two chemicals on site are part of the required water treatment
process and are stored separately and in secondary containers
o The likelihood of ground water contamination should a spill occur, is
very remote. The water level is 100 feet below the ground.
o Noise
o The ambient noise is louder than the pump equipment
o At night, the pump noise is louder on the side of the project near Drake
Avenue. Mitigation efforts include: installation of a wooden fence in
place ofthe current chain link, dampeners inside the equipment sheds,
construction management plan describing hours of construction and
truck routes
o Additional discussions
o Standard mitigating measures will be employed during construction
o Current and future water service needs
