CC 12-05-23 Item No. 8 Accept Silicon Valley Clean Energy Community Resilience Grant_Written CommunicationsCC 12-05-2023 Item No. 8 Accept Silicon Valley Clean Energy Community Resilience Grant Written Communications From:Kitty Moore To:Pamela Wu; City Clerk; Kirsten Squarcia Cc:Matt Morley Subject:December 5 Item 8 Staff and Written Communications Date:Monday, December 4, 2023 8:09:14 AM Hi, Thank you for the report on Item 8, the following are questions/comments for Staff and Written Communications: Question 1: Attachment B states these units will be rotated every two months. Has Staff been trained on moving these units? Question 2: The report mentions these are designed for winds up to 160 mph, what features do they have with regards to their seismic design? Question 3: What is the cost differential from installing a permanent solar charger station? An internet search of Solar Carport yields many options and styles. Question 4: What is the ongoing maintenance, expected useful life, and how is the assembly, especially the battery be disposed of? Question 5: What Level Charger will this have? Question 6: It appears that the EV ARC 2020 is specified as the charging system but the EV charger is selected by the City? Can that be competitively bid? For instance, can we specify we want a Level 3 charger and choose the lowest bid? Thank you, Kitty Moore Kitty Moore Councilmember City Council KMoore@cupertino.gov (408) 777-1389 From:Peggy Griffin To:Chad Mosley Cc:City Clerk; City Council Subject:2023-12-05 City Council Mtg-Agenda ITEM8-Beam EV Arc Grant Date:Sunday, December 3, 2023 8:42:51 PM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING EMAIL AND ATTACHMENTS AS PART OF WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE ABOVE CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA ITEM. REQUEST: Director Mosley, please forward to Assistant Director Tan. Dear Assistant Director Tan, I have a few questions regarding this EV grant: Q1: Will it only take up 1 parking space or will the adjoining spaces be unavailable for parking? As you know, parking is at a premium so this is important to know in advance. Q2: Funding…does the city have to buy it first then get re-imbursed or are they given the money first? Q3: Will there be any additional costs NOT COVERED by this grant to implement this feature? If so, how much? Q4: How much wind can this contraption endure? What is the max sustainable win before it topples over? Sincerely, Peggy Griffin
