Dear City Council,
Please include this email for the Council Meeting on 3/19/2024 regarding agenda item #7.
Cupertino Voice is a group of Cupertino residents who care passionately about our
community and the welfare of our city. We performed many surveys related to Cupertino
issues. Please see https://cupertinovoice.org/?page_id=13 for a full list.
In March 2024, we performed a survey about the Housing Element. The survey was sent to
about 15,000 registered Cupertino voters and people who subscribed to our surveys. The
survey is still open up to 3/19/2024. We received 168 total responses, including 141 responses
from registered Cupertino voters.
The tentative conclusions for this survey are as follows:
1. Survey participants don't like the State taking over the housing control from cities.
2. Survey participants don't like the State mandating housing allocations to cities.
3. Survey participants would like the city to have more public meetings on the Housing
Element.
4. Survey participants would like the city to provide public meetings to obtain public input.
5. Survey participants don't support corner lots in single family house neighborhoods to
become multi-family housing.
6. Survey participants don't support counting sidewalks and tails through new development
projects as "parkland".
7. Survey participants don't support allowing high density housing on all school sites.
Please see https://cupertinovoice.org/?p=155 for detailed results.
Sincerely,
Long Jiao on behalf of Cupertino Voice
