A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
APPROVING TO AMEND THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE,
HOUSING, AND IMPLEMENTATION ELEMENTS RELATED TO:
THE LONG-TERM GROWTH BOUNDARY (1-GPA-97);
AN AMENDMENT TO AMEND THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM
MEDIUM-HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL 10-20 DWELLING UNITS PER GROSS ACRE
TO LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL 1-5 DWELLING UNITS PER GROSS ACRE (2-GPA-97);
ADOPTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO CONSIDER HOUSING MITIGATION
REQUIREMENTS TO THE HOUSING MITIGATION MANUAL (3-GPA-97);
ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO AMEND SITE SPECIFIC POLICY. ADD TO POLICY
2-25, STRATEGY TWO: THE SANDHILL PROPERTIES HOTEL, USE PERMIT 15-U-96,
APPROVED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF WOLFE ROAD AND PRUNERIDGE
AVENUE, IS SPECIFICALLY EXEMPTED FROM THE HEIGHT LIMITATIONS. THIS
HEIGHT EXCEPTION APPLIES TO THE CURRENT USE PERMITS AND ANY PERMIT
EXTENSION AND MODIFICATIONS GRANTED BY THE CITY (4-GPA-97);
ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO AMEND THE GENERAL PLAN TO DELETE
THE REQUIREMENT TO DEVELOP RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AT THE
UPPER LIMIT OF THE DWELLING UNIT DENSITY RANGE
(POLICY 2-13, STRATEGY 2; POLICY 3-1) (6-GPA-97)
WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino initiated applications for a General Plan Amendment
as described in this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the necessary public notices were given in accordance with the procedure
ordinance of the City of Cupertino and the City Council has held at least one public hearing on
the matter; and
WHEREAS, the Application No.(s): 1-GPA-97, 2-GPA-97, 3-GPA-97, 4-GPA-97 and 6-
GPA-97, request to amend the general plan land use, housing elements and maximum height
amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cupertino
that after careful consideration of maps, facts, exhibits, testimony and other evidence submitted
in this matter, the application for General Plan Amendment, Application No.(s): 1-GPA-97
(Exhibit A), 2-GPA-97 (Exhibit B), 3-GPA-97 (Exhibit C), 4-GPA-97 (Exhibit D), and 6-GPA-
97 (Exhibit E), revising the General Plan, is hereby approved; and that the subconclusions upon
which the findings and conditions specified in this resolution are based on and contained in the
public hearing record conceming Application No.(s): 1-GPA-97, 2-GPA-97, 3-GPA-97, 4-GPA-
97 and 6-GPA-97, as set forth in the minutes of the City Council Meeting of April 21, 1997, and
are incorporated by reference as though fully set forth herein.
