teencommission@cupertino.gov. These e-mail comments will also be posted to the City’s
website after the meeting.
Oral public comments may be made during the public comment period for each agenda
item.
Members of the audience who address the legislative body are requested to complete a
Speaker Card and identify themselves. Completion of Speaker Cards and identifying
yourself is voluntary and not required to attend the meeting or provide comments .

REGULAR TEEN COMMISSION MEETING
CALL TO ORDER
At 6:10 p.m. Chair Biswari called the Teen Commission meeting to order.
ROLL CALL
Present: Biswari, Chen, Garg, Lau, Liu, Misra, Mukherjee. Absent: Su. Staff: Sonya Lee, Gian Martire.
CEREMONIAL MATTERS AND PRESENTATIONS
1. Subject: Community Development Presentation
Recommended Action: Receive a presentation on Community Development projects
from Gian Martire, Senior Planner.
Commissioners received a presentation on Community Development projects from
Gian Martire, Senior Planner.
2. Subject: Youth Led Organization, UpNext Scientists
Recommended Action: Receive a presentation from Youth Led Organization, UpNext
Scientists, for Teen Commission Highlight Program.
Commissioners received a presentation from Youth Led Organization, UpNext
Scientists, from Dhruti Halambi for Teen Commission Highlight Program.
In anticipation of the evaluation of the YLO, Commissioners asked for clarification on
the following questions:
• What was the GoFundMe used for?
• Where are end products published on the website?
• Any statistics on alumni that go on to research programs?
• Why did you create it?
• Why non-profit?
• How will it continue in the future?

Recommended Action: Review and approve the minutes from the Teen Commission
meeting on November 13, 2024.
Vice Chair Chen moved to approve the November meeting minutes as submitted.
Commissioner Mukherjee seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Recommended Action: Discuss and evaluate UpNext Scientists Youth Led Organization
for Teen Commission Highlight Program.
Commissioners reviewed the information provided in the YLO Highlight Program
application.
Commissioner Misra moved to approve UpNext Scientists for the YLO Highlight
Program. Commissioner Mukherjee seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
5. Subject: Teen Speaker Series

Speaker Series topics.
Commissioners provided feedback on potential Teen Speaker Series topics and ranked
