Local Funding Impact
•$3,000,000 from the City’s BMR and PLHA funds will provide approx. 8% of project funding, making a very large impact on the Mary Avenue Villas budget.
•Local source will provide a significant boost in scoring for state and tax credit applications. $3,000,000 will generate a higher tax credit tiebreaker score by 6-7 percentage points compared to currently recommended funding.
•Funding through the City’s BMR and PLHA sources will better leverage the City’s prior investment in the site.
•The time is now to make 8+ years of planning a reality for IDD housing.
Project Development Status
•3/15/22 - Council voted unanimously to proceed with the proposal of Council Work Program to: Circulate an RFQ/RFP for qualified housing developers in accordance with the State’s Surplus Land Act. RFP issued 8/18/22.
•10/18/22 - RFP response submitted
•7/20/23 - Draft ENA sent by City
•4/15/24 –ENA signed between the Developer and the City with unanimous Council approval
•Community Outreach Meetings July 2024 and January 2025
•Today – Preliminary Review by all departments complete. Entitlement package submitted to the City and under review.
