Elevating Silicon Valley’s creative culture. Vision The number of 501c3 arts organizations grew from 659 to 1063 over the past ten years. The collective budgets of the entire Silicon Valley arts ecosystem are less than two to three large budget arts organizations in other places like New York, San Francisco and Chicago. While large budget arts organizations in other cities grew in number, San Jose’s contracted and geographically dispersed within the last decade. •Build the capacity of our arts and culture ecosystem •Raise the visibility and voices of our creative sector •Increase access to the arts for high-need communities ST R A T E G I E S Program Goals 1.Cultivate, preserve and advance an arts ecosystem that reflects and embraces the diversity of our region. 1.Catalyze capacity and resilience in our historically under-resourced arts ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on arts organizations led by, employing, and serving communities disproportionately impacted by limited access to resources. 1.Provide access to arts experiences to historically under- served audiences or population. SVCREATES’ MOU with Cupertino Partnership Goals: ●Leverage SVC resources and civic and cultural assets within each community to strengthen the arts. ●Raise local awareness and support for the arts. ●Build a region wide network of arts advocates for private, state and federal investment in the arts. SVCREATES’ Current Impact in Cupertino -Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival -Venues in Cupertino are used by SVCreates grantees -Cupertino High School receives ArtsEdConnect grants to provide arts education to students Questions?
