Exhibit Opening We opened the Fremont & Cora Older exhibit, featuring a gallery of the Older’s achievements alongside artifacts from their home.

Fall Festival CHSM had a booth at the Rotary Fall Festival, where we showed a slideshow of historical images and connected with the community.
October 2024
Mellon Intern Mellon Scholars Intern and DeAnza student Jana Kilpatrick joins CHSM staff to work on archives.
Stocklmeir Farmhouse CHS heard a presentation from former mayor Richard Lowenthal regarding potential for future use of Stocklmeir Farmhouse by CHS.
November 2024
STAR Awards CHS Staff and Board Members attended the Chamber of Commerce STAR Awards Program on November 8th. CHS Staff provided research
for a new Chamber App which highlights the history of several iconic Cupertino businesses.
History Talk Historian John C. Ralston talked about his book “Fremont Older and the 1916 San Francisco Bombing – A Tireless Crusade for Justice”.
History Tour CHSM members & guests toured the Folger Estate Stables with Kym Teppo, Executive Director of Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Park.
Newsletter Cornerstone Newsletter was published.

December 2024
Holiday Exhibit CHSM put up festive decorations in time for the holidays. Toy train was set to run on tracks around miniature Christmas Tree in museum.
Tree Lighting & Santa Breakfast Museum open for Quinlan Community Center Christmas Tree Lighting December 6st, and for Breakfast with Santa December 7th.
Holiday Party December 13th Holiday and Volunteer Appreciation Party at the Cupertino Hotel.
January 2025
CHSM Tax Returns CHSM Tax Returns were completed and submitted.
Baer Blacksmith Demonstration Docents help staff information table on January 25th at Baer Blacksmith Shop demonstration at McClellan Ranch Park.
Cupertino Stories CHSM joined the Cupertino Stories mayor’s initiative, providing historical materials & advising on oral history collection.
February 2025
Exhibit Opening Collaboration with Exhibit Envoy to present Gadgets Galore! an exhibit about 20th and 21st century home life.

State of the City CHSM Board Members and Executive Director attended State of the City program at Quinlan Center on February 26th.
March 2025
History Tour On March 22, CHSM vice president Jason Foreman led a tour of McClellan Ranch and trail while telling stories of early settlers in the area.
Tavern Talk A Tavern Talk was held on March 26th at the Blue Pheasant, with over 60 people in attendance.

Baer Blacksmith Demonstration Docents help staff information table on April 26th at Baer Blacksmith Shop demonstration at McClellan Ranch Park.
Cherry Blossom Festival The Museum was open for the Cherry Blossom Festival (April 26-27). 2,613 adults & children (31% increase from 2024) visited the
museum to see the special two-day exhibit of kimono garment styles and a gallery of stories of Japanese-American families in Cupertino.

Annual Membership Meeting
The Cupertino Historical Society Annual Membership Meeting was held on May 14th. A new slate of officers for 2025-26 was elected.
After the membership meeting, attendees enjoyed a presentation by Debra Gomes Korbel about her book, Into the Moonbroch, a story of
Azorean Portuguese immigrants in Santa Clara Valley.

June 2025
A Day on the Ranch Fundraiser On June 20th, the Historical Society held the Day on the Ranch BBQ Fundraiser at Blackberry Farm in Cupertino. More than ninety
attendees reminisced about the valley’s agricultural past with speaker John Ivancovich and enjoyed music by Johnny Reason, food from
Cupertino Hotel, and fine Italian wines. Silent and Live Auctions helped CHSM raise funds to continue its mission.
Exhibit Opening In late June, we held the Opening of the World of the Honeybee exhibit, showcasing all the wonderful things about bees and beekeeping.
The exhibit highlights the story of the first honeybees brought to Cupertino and teaches visitors about different types of bees and the
processes and tools involved in beekeeping and honey production. Display items include real hives, a honey extractor, and more!
