CALL TO ORDER
Chair Swamy called the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
in the Quinlan Community Center Conference Room, 10185 N Stelling Rd.

Commissioners present: Seema Swamy, Claudio Bono, Carol Stanek, Gopal
Kumarappan, Sheela Sreekanth
Commissioners absent: None
Staff present: Sonya Lee, Jessica Suntay, Branton Curt
Guest speakers: None
CEREMONIAL MATTERS AND PRESENTATIONS
1. Subject: Parks and Recreation Department Marketing and Communications
Recommended Action: Receive a presentation on Parks and Recreation Department
marketing and communications.
Sonya Lee, Recreation Manager, introduced Branton Curt, Communications and
Marketing Coordinator, to present on the item. Presented on the recreation schedule,
display marketing, social media, email marketing and outreach, website
(cupertino.gov/recreation), and repeat customers.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions and made comments.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
2. Subject: May 1, 2025 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes
Recommended Action: Review and approve the May 1, 2025 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting minutes.
Vice Chair Bono motioned to approve the May 1, 2025 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting minutes as submitted. Commissioner Sreekanth seconded. Motion
carried unanimously.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Lisa Warren discussed the City’s potential purchase of [10480 Finch Avenue], owned by
the Cupertino Unified School District, adjacent to Sedgwick Elementary School.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
Written communications were emailed to the Commission and are included for the
record.

STAFF AND COMMISSION REPORTS
Recreation Manager Lee presented the Liaison’s update as submitted.
FUTURE AGENDA SETTING
Commissioner Kumarappan requested an update on the usage of Cupertino Parks and
Recreation facilities, including resident verses non-resident statistics and rules and
regulations as it pertains to the written communication received by the Commission.
Commissioner Sreekanth seconded.
ADJOURNMENT
Chair Swamy adjourned the meeting at 8:05 p.m. to the July 3, 2025 meeting at 7:00 p.m.
