attend at reduced fees, or none at all. No one >s refused enrollment due to inability to pa .Adult
day care also benefits family caregivers with much-needed respite, reducing the stress of 24/7
caze for a dependent elder. Counseling, referral:; and Caregiver Support Workshops help
families maintain their dependent senior loved one in the home environment, avoiding emotional
trauma and financial burdens associated with institutional placement.
CDBG funding from the City of Cupertino will be allocated toward helping 11 Cupertino
low-income seniors receive adult day caze servic;es at a sig~uficantly reduced rate of $5/day, and
benefiting their caregivers with respite and support, as well as o~erat>ng expenses to maintain
full enrollment, quality services, and adequate s1:aff-to-client ratio at the Cupertino site.
