Regular Adjourned Meeting
Monday, January 25, 2010
ROLL CALL
At 7:05 p.m. Mayor Kris Wang called the regular adjourned meeting to order in Conference
Room A, 10300 Torre Avenue, Cupertino, California.
Present: Mayor Kris Wang, Vice-Mayor Gilbert V~Iong, and Council members Barry Chang (7:09
p.m.), Orrin Mahoney, and Mark Santoro. Absent: none.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS -None
NEW BUSINESS
1. Accept the resignation of Christina Hack~NOrth from the Fine Arts Commission and fill
the vacancy during the annual commission interviews.
Wong moved and Mahoney seconded to accept the resignation and fill the vacancy during
the annual commission interviews on Janu;~ry 27. The motion carried with Chang absent.
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS INTERVIEV`~S
Council member Chang was present for the interviews.
2. Interview applicants for commission and c~~mmittee vacancies.
• Fine Arts Commission
The City Council interviewed incumbent KC Chandratreya and Srilakshmi Sitaraman.
The City Council appointed KC Chanciratreya to a second term ending January 2014,
and appointed Srilakshmi Sitaraman to a partial term ending January 2013, which will
count as a full term.

• Community Development Block Grant Committee
No qualifying applications were submitted for the two vacant positions. Staff will
continue to post these vacancies (Garden Gate and Rancho Rinconada areas) until
filled.
• Housing Commission
Applicant Tung Cheung did not interview for the vacancy since he did not qualify for
the Financial Representative position. Staff will continue to post the vacancy until
filled.
• Bicycle Pedestrian Commission
The City Council interviewed Rekha Sathish, Joseph Walton, Sreekanth Bhaskar,
William Chan, Teresa Olson, Kenneth Ferguson, Stephen Hsieh, and Clinton
Brownley. The City Council appointed William Chan to a partial term ending January
2011, which will not count as a full tern since it is less than two years.
The City Council directed staff to look into the rule that a member of an advisory body,
having completed two consecutive terms, must wait one year before being eligible to
apply for the same commission or committee, and to bring the issue to a future meeting
for Council consideration.
ADJOURNMENT
At 9:15 p.m. the meeting was adjourned to WE;dnesday, January 27 at 6:00 p.m. to conduct
additional commission interviews. The meeting ~,vill be held in Cupertino City Hall Conference
Room A, 10300 Torre Avenue.
