Applicant: City of Cupertino, Stevens Creek Corridor Park Master Plan
Location: Stevens Creek Corridor between Stevens Creek Blvd and McClellan Rd
The following items were discussed:
o Trees/Landscaping
o Ofthe thousands of trees on site, 187 trees will be removed (including
13 specimen), 1 tree from the picnic area and numerous orange trees
from the Stockelmeir property. Most ofthe trees will be removed due
to the creek realignment. No heritage trees are present.
o In most cases, the trees slated for removal have reached the end of their
natural lives.
o Native trees will be replanted at a 3 to 1 ratio
o Underbrush to be replanted along the creek bed to restore the natural
environment
o Biologic Impacts
o Construction will be done in such a manner as to not disturb the bat
colony
o No "sensitive" species have been located in the construction site
o Stream restoration will promote Steelhead trout to return to the area
o During the creek realignment, displaced fish will be salvaged by Fish
and Game
o Pesticide study to be conducted at the Stockelmeir property
o Concern about bird habitats
o Cultural Impacts
o No Ohlone Indian sites have been identified in the area. If any sites are
unearthed during construction, standard archeological procedures will
be followed

o Dog walking issues
o 100 year flood plain

Location: Lands easterly of Saratoga Creek and westerly of Lawrence
Expressway between Lawrence Expressway and Chelmsford Drive
The following items were discussed:
o Land Use
o Intent is to extend the Saratoga Creek trail
o Prior to park or recreational development, soil and noise studies need
completed
o Geologic survey indicates the possibility of liquefaction during a
seismic event
o No structures are scheduled to be constructed

o Completion of the annexation process
