PUBLIC HEARINGS
l. CITY OF CUPERTINO: Public Hearing to consider 1973
Comprehensive General Plan.
Mr. Levy had distributed, in addition to Resolution No. 1183,
Exhibit A-l: Detailed Description and Standards of Land Use
Designations Within the Core Area; and Exhibit A-2: Summary
: , Explanation of Adopted Land Use Designations an3 Standards of
City of Cupertino Planning ComMission; and attachments. He
suggested the Planning Commission f irst review Exhibit A-2.
Comm. Gatto said that in general, it looks good; however, he feels
it might be better if the general principles were at the beginning
rather than the end of the document. Mr. Levy said he had put it
at the end because the principles were the end result. After furt ex
discussion by the Planning Commission, it was decided the general
principies would, instead, be called "Summary of General Principle
and Conclusions" and would be put at the beginning.

Corim. Nellis wanted to remove the Pll designation c*i the General
Plan. There was a considerable discussion about the significance
of PD,assigned to parcels. Comrr.. Adarns tondered if this required
the landowners , say , on the west side of Highaay 9, to have a
planned development before anyone could develop his property.
Comm. Gatto stated that the tasic desire of this Commission is to
have some organization to the development of these areas. Perhaps
when the Zoning Ordinnce is written it can be coded. The ilannin
DirectoY added that there is the desire to amalgamate smaller
parcels.
