Applicant: City of Cupertino
Location: Scenic Circle Access to Stevens Creek Trail and Blackberry Farm Park
(City -owned property)
Proposed project would construct an approximately 270 foot long trail to connect Scenic Circle to
the existing Stevens Creek Trail in Blackberry Farm Park via an existing pedestrian bridge over
Stevens Creek. Also included is construction of approach ramps, stairway, retaining wall, access
point at Scenic Circle, and plantings.
❑ Archeological /Cultural
o There is a Stop Work Order in the construction documents should any artifacts be
discovered on site
❑ Trees
o Plant 2 replacement trees, ensure their continued survival for 5 years
o Avoid construction in tree drip lines to the extent feasible and trail alignment
o No protected trees are expected to be disturbed during construction
❑ Biological/ Wildlife
o A pre - construction survey will be conducted to ensure there are no protected
wildlife at the site
o Install special fencing to help keep creek wildlife out of construction area
o Conduct pre - construction training; with contractors
o Speed limits will be established at the construction site
❑ Additional Discussion
o As a result of public meetings, a change was made to the entry point access
location off of Scenic Circle
o An Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration has already been prepared
by a consulting firm, routed for comments and filed with the State Clearinghouse
o A new crosswalk is included in the project with disabled access
