9.06.120Massage TherapistPractical Examination. Theapplicant shalltakeand passawrittentestand practical performanceexamination administeredthroughamedical practitionerapprovedbytheCity ofCupertino,whereinthe applicant has beenrequiredto demonstrateabasic knowledge ofanatomy,physiology,hygiene andmassage.Iftheapplicantfailsthe practicalexam, he/she shall be permittedtoretakethe exam once,afteratleastthirty but no morethan sixty dayshaveelapsedfromthe date ofthefirst exam, providedthattheapplicant paystheapplicableexamfeesfora secondtime.Shouldthe applicantfailtheexamasecondtime,theapplication shall be denied,andtheapplicant shall not be permittedtoapplyagainforamassagetherapist permitfora period of oneyear.Applicants, who havetakenand successfullypassedtheNationalCertificationBoardfor Therapeutic MassageandBodyworkortheNationalCertificationCommissionforAcupunctureandOriental MedicinetestmodulerelatedtoAsianBodyworkTherapy, shall beexemptedfromtheMassage TherapistPractical Examination. Theapplicantmust submitacurrentcertificatewiththe applicationto beexempt. This section does notapplytoanyone possessingan MTOcertificate. (Ord. 2046, (part), 2009)
