Award of contract for 2011 Pavement Maintenance Project.
Recommended Action
Authorize Director of Public Works to award construction contract.
Description
Staff recommendsthat Council authorize the Director of Public Works to award the construction
contract for the2011 Pavement Maintenance Project, based on bids to be received June 28, 2011.
Discussion
Currently, the City’s 2011 Pavement Maintenance Project is out to bid, with bids to be received
on June 28, 2011.Because,in the past, Council has occasionallycancelledmeetings in July, staff
recommends that Council authorize the Director of Public Works to award the construction
contract to the lowest responsible bidder, if the low bid is within the funds available for the
projectand there are no bid protests. The Engineer’s Estimate for the base project is $1.13
Million.
