Sorry I can't make it to the Council meeting Tuesday evening. Please approve the environmental clearance documents prepared for Phase II of the Stevens Creek Corridor Park and Restoration Plans, so work on this important project can continue, improving the health of the creek while extending our Stevens Creek Trail to Stevens Creek Blvd. And please approve the funds needed for City Staff to work with the Friends of Don Burnett to share with the world the renaming of our beautiful Mary Avenue Bicycle Footbridge to honor former Mayor and Councilmember and bicycle and pedestrian advocate Don Burnett. Many of you have run your campaigns on transparency. However, this project has not been transparent. I don't think that due diligence has been done wrt to CEQA in considering connections to future trails (up to and including the National be Anza Trail) or future programming at the Stocklmeir Property. This is piece-mealing and as far as I understand, a no-no under CEQA. I wish the docs acknowledged these issues and took them into account now - rather than addressing issues when they come up later and losing out on missed opportunities or spending more money. Lucky You - you get to spend the evening in a nice cool building!!! Warm Regards, Rhoda Fry 1
