Dear Mr. Antonucci:
Thank you very much for granting the final inspection of my renovated garage and closing
the file on any further inspections.
As I mentioned to you, when I applied for the permit, I did not know what the proper
procedures are and followed everything that was instructed to me by the planning
department and the building inspector.
When I inquired specifically about whether I needed architectural drawings and individual
inspection on concrete, frame, roof, etc.; I was told that it was not necessary for the
following reasons:
Repair done on less than 25% of the structure
Repair done by owner
• Structure is more than 50 years old
Structure is detached
-- There is no increase in size or footprint
Concrete slab is for storage with no parking or plumbing
After receiving the permit and permission to start and finish the work, I received the final
approval from the inspector in August of 2000. I was very surprised to receive another
inspection from the City of Cupertino more than one year after the work has been
completed.
Thank you for promising me that there would not be any more surprise inspections based
on my neighbor's complaint and I really appreciate it greatly.
