Dear Sir,
This letter is to confirm that I have provided structural evaluation per Code requirement
for the kitchen remodel work on captioned house. These following items are things
involved structure and need attention,
1. The existing fireplace will be replaced by a 6' wide x 3' high window, new 4x12
header will be provided. Along the same line, there is enough wall length for lateral
support.
2. By removed and relocated interior bearing wall, the existing ceiling joists will loss
support, a new 4x12 ceiling beam with new 4x4 post & new 18"sgx12" footing, along
with new bearing wall, can adequate support the existing ceiling joist and existing
roof joist.
3. To continue the existing conventional roof structure, provide Simpson ST6224 @
48" oc along the ceiling beam, to continue the ceiling joist chord action, per detail
attached.
Doing the above changes this house can remain the original structural design integrity.
