AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO AMENDING CHAPTER 19.96, PARKING AND KEEPING
VEHICLES IN VARIOUS ZONES, AND CHAPTER 11.29 ON-SITE PARKING, OF THE CUPERTINO
MUNICIPAL CODE
The City Council of the City of Cupertino does hereby ordain that Chapter 11.26 and 19.96 of the Cupertino Municipal Code is
amended to read as follows:
11.29.040 AI:
e. All vehicles must be parked on an impervious surface consisting of concrete, asphalt, or other like materials. Such
impervious surface may not exceed fifty percent of the front yard setback area, unless a greater area is approved by the
City in conjunction with a development plan. Said impervious surface must be contiguous and, at minimum, encompass
the outline of the vehicle.
g. Except on lots with circular driveways which conform to the provisions of this code, all vehicles parked in the front or
street side yard setback area must be parked perpendicular to the street. On lots with circular driveways which conform to
the provisions of this code, all vehicles parked in the front or street side yard setback area are limited to less than 20 feet in
length, unless parked perpendicular to the street. Owners of vehicles made non-conforming by the adoption of this section
shall comply with this provision within two years of its enactment.

Severability Clause
If any section subsection sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, such
decision shall not effect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The legislative body hereby declares that it
would have passed this ordinance in each section, subsection, clause, phrase, thereof, irrespective of the fact that anyone or
more section, subsection, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional.
Effective Date
This Ordinance No. 1650 shall take effect and be in full force 30 days after its enactment.
