Dear Cupertino City Council,
I am writing this waiver request to you on behalf of the 2007 Summer
Day Camp conducted by Organization of Special Needs Families. This.
. program is designed to give chlldren with special needs a happy
Summer time with group activities ~ut in the community.
OSF Summer Camp was established in 2005. Each year we take 25 to 35
children with special needs of different ages and take them to city parks
& recreational facilities (including Memorial Park, Wilson Park, San
Antonio "Ranch Park, Black Berry Farm., Sports Center, City Hall,
Library) and YMCA's facilities in Cupertino and Saratoga. OSF
Summer Camp runs for three or four weeks in July and August for six
(6) hours each day. This year OSF provides Program Director,
Teachers, and 35 one-on-one Counselors to 30 children with special
needs.

This year we have to pay $1,100 to use City Hall, Community Hall, and
Sports Center. OSF has to work very hard to raise fund to serve this
community and our budget is extremely tight compare to other City
assisted community service organizations. Please kindly waive this fee so
that we could use this money in facilitating more educational programs "
to special needs children which takes up 10% of our students in our
school district.
Thank you for your kind consideration and your approval is greatly
appreciated!
Sincerely, .
Chihua Wei
OSF Founder and CEO
