City Council members present: Mayor John Bautista, Councihnembers Don Bumett, Michael
Chang, and Waily Dean. Council members absent: Vice-Mayor Lauralee Soreusen.
Staff present: City Clerk Kimberly Smith.

INTERVIEWS OF CANDIDATES AND APPOINTMENT TO ADVISORY BODIES
.._ 6:00 p,m, - Fine Arts Commission
Council interviewed Stephen Beard and Marlene Elwell for two openings with te,~s ending
January 2001. Council voted unanimously to reappoint incumbent Steve. Beard and to appoint
Mnrlene Elwell to the remaining position.
6:15 p,m, - Housing Committee
Council interviewed Shish[r Mukherjee and Kathy Robln.~on for one opening for a resident
representntive, term ending Jann__a_ry 2001. Council voted unnnimously to reappoint incumbent
Kathy Robinson.
6:35 p.m. - Library Commission
Council interviewed the following individuals for three openings, terms ending Jannnry 2001:
Mary Minow, Charles Pow, Bro__dley Tice, and Diana Wu. Council voted unanimously to
renppoint incumbents Mary Minow and Charles Pow, and to appoint Diane Wu to the remaining
position.
7:10 p.m. - Planning Commi.~sion
Council interviewed the fo/lowing individ,mls for three openings on the Planning Commission,
'- te,t~s ending January 2001: Anne Dor, David Doyle, Andrea Harris, Shishir Mukherjce, Paul
Roberts, and Susan Wuthrich.

Council voted unanimously to reappoint incumbents David Doyle, Andrea Harris, and Paul
Roberts.
7:50 p.m. - Telecommunications Commission
Council interviewed Algeri Salvatore for one opening for a term ending Sanuary 1999, and voted
unanimously to appoint him.
ADJOURNMENT
At 8:10 p.m. the meeting was adjourned to Tuesday, January 21 at 5:30 p.m. for a study session
regarding the Technology 2000 m,,~er plan.
