ORDINANCE N0. 1210
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO AMENDING CHAPTER 3.1'l,
TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX, OF THE CUPERTINO MUNICIPAL CODE
The City Council of the City of Cupertino does hereby ordain that Chapter
3.12 , Section 3.12.030, A. of the Cupertino Municipal Code shall be amended
to read as follows:
3.12.030 Imposition. A. For the privilege of occupancy 1n any
hotel, each transient is aub,ject to and shall pay a Cax in the amount of
five percent of the rent charged by the operator. The tax constitutes a
debt owed by the transient to the City which is extinguished only by payment
to the operator or to the City. The transient shall pay the tax to the
operator of the hotel at the time the rent is paid. if the rent is paid
in installments, a porportionate share of the tax shall be paid with each
installment. The unpaid tax shall be due upon the transient's ceasing to
occupy space in the hotel. If for any reason the tax due ie not paid to
the operatoc of the hole, the Tax Administrator may require that such tax
is paid directly to the Tax Administrator
Section 3.12.030. B. shall not be changed.

Cupertino this 6th day of December 1982 and ENACTED at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cupertino this 20th
day of December , 1982 by the following vote:
