ORDIIVANCE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO AMENDING CHAPTER 19.02,
DEFINITIONS, OF THE CUPERTINO 6tUNICIPAL CODE.
Section 1: Amendment:
The City Council of the City of Cupertino does hereby ordain that Chapter 19.02 is amended as
follows:
Section 19.02.030 Definitions:
75) "Massage" means any method of pressure on or friction against or stroking, kneading,
rubbing, tapping, pounding, vibrating or stimulating the external parts of the human body
with the hands or with any mechanical or electrical apparatus or other appliances or
devices with or without such supplementary aides as rubbing alcohol, liniment, antiseptic,
oil, powder, cream, lotion, ointment or other similar preparations.
76) "Massage Parlor" is a building or portion thereof, or a place where massage is
administered for compensation or from which a massage business ~r service for
compensation is operated wlich is not exempt, eel or re ~IgI aced by the Massage
Fatabli• ~+ent Ordinance as contained in Title 9. Health and Sanitation of the Cupertino
Murl~jpa! Code. Chapter 9.06.
All subsequent subsections are to be renumbered sequrntia(ly.
Section 2: Effective Date:
This Ordinance No. 1607 shall take affect and be in full force 30 days after its enactment.

September, 1992, and enacted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cupertino
