Regular Adjourned Meeting

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
At 12:00 p.m. Mayor Chang called the meeting to order at the Blackberry Farm Retreat Center,
21975 San Fernando Avenue, Cupertino.
ROLL CALL
City Council members present: Mayor Michael Chang, Vice-Mayor Wally Dean (1:45 p.m.),
Councilmembers Don Bumett, Sandy James, and John Statton. Council members absent: None.
Staff Present: City Manager Donald Brown, and Director of Administrative Services Carol
Atwood.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS - None
COUNCIL WORKSHOP
1. Team-building exercise.
2. Goals update: City Manager Brown provided a "May Update" to the 1997/98 Goals, along
with recommended changes in the 1998/99 Ooals.
3. Preview of Capital Improvements Budget (CIP), 5-Year Forecast, Fund Balance Trends, and
Library/Senior Center Financing Options. Carol Atwood reviewed these documents as a
preview to the Council's Budget Workshop scheduled for May 27, 1998.
4. Council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 98-111, approving an agreement with
Pentamation for Finance/Human Resources software and services.
CLOSED SESSION
At 5:25 p.m. the City Council adjourned to a closed session to conduct the City Manager
evaluation. At 5:10 p.m. the Council reconvened. No action was taken.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m. to Monday, May 18, 1998, at 6:00 p.m., in Conference
Room A of City Hall to conduct interviews of candidates for the Housing Committee.
