CC Resolution No. 3883 RESOLUTION N0. 3883 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RESPONDING TO THE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO . 1980 WHEREAS, although a goal of 30% transit ridership has been mandated, the ma~or findings from Phase I report reflect that Santa Clara County should strive towards a balanced transportation system; and WHEREAS, this w311 require that expenditures on any part of the system would necessitate careful consideration as to which components of the overall system entails the most concentrated effort; and WHEREAS, even with the 30% market penetration mandate, pro~ections indicate that there will be an increase b~ 400,000 trips per day traveled within the County; ~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County resubmit a five-year program which eliminates the deficit in the road and airport programs by reducing the scope of the transit section in order to accomplish the necessary balance in accordance with the following principles: 1. The County honor the agreements that have been entered into for the three year F.A.U. program that no revisions be made to that process. 2. Diversions from gas tax funds be made only when the road program has sufficiently been satisfied as to implementing the needs of today's demands. 3. Go on record as opposing any de-programing of Caltrans's pro~ects listed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the operation of the County airport be continued as an enterprise fund and that reference be made to the resolution adopted by the City of Cupertino as evidence for supporting the Phase II development of the Rapid Tranait Development Project.
