A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
REQUESTING REMOVAL OF THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALK AT THE
INTERSECTION OF DE ANZA BOULEVARD AND CALI AVENUE
WHEREAS, the State of California has agreed to improve the traffic
signal at the intersection of De Anza Boulevard and Stevens Creek Boulevard;
and
WHEREAS, said improvement includes the Widening of De Anza Boulevard ~
to provide three (3) lanes southbound instead of two (2) and two (2) left-
turn lanes northbound instead of one (1); and
WHEREAS, such widening would materially increase the degree of difficulty
for pedestrians to cross De Anza Boulevard at Cali Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cupertino feels that the public
safety and welfare would best be served by eliminating the pedestrian cross-
walk across De Anza Boulevard at Cali Avenue;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Cuper-
tino requests that the State, in conjunction with its improvement of the inter-
section of and approaches to De Anza Boulevard and Stevens Creek Boulevard,
remove the crosswalk and signs at Cali Avenue.

of Cupertino this 7th day of December , 1976, by the following vote:
