Oral Comm. Alex Tsai- ~:q" ~ oral C~ orri vvt . ~, '+ P!l ex Tsa i Dear City Council members, I would like to bring to your attention regarding the major impact of the Stevens Creek restoration project to my home and the issues that I have raised many times during the council and project meetings. These issues appear to remain unattended in the current plan on the city web site - as opposed to what was communicated earlier - that they will be addressed during design phase. I would really appreciate your help to address the problem andu nderstanding of the negative impact to the daily life of my family. My home is located right next to the blackberry farm park. With the new planned year-round opening and new multiuse trail, the park is expected to become a popular place for public to enjoy. While it is a nice-to-have amenity for park users, the impact to the neighboring residence need to be considered equally as it will affect our everyday life in the future. There are several issues w/ direct impact to my home, that were expected to be addressed based on earlier discussion I had with the city staff: - Setback and buffer from the new trail to my property: Some background: the setback was around 70ft based on the initial plan, which is much less than the minimal 100-150ft from all other residence as reported during the council meeting in 2006. (I actually measured it with the staff after the meeting to prove the fact). Based on the latest plan, the trail is moved even closer to my house (within ~50ft I think), in addition, the landscape buffer discussed earlier is now totally missing. Given the trail will attract hundreds of people in the summer time, it is clearly insufficient and the problem need to be solved. - Access road in front of my house: The concern is it will become a popular shortcut to the new trail for bikers and pedestrian. I had some discussion w/ the staff on how to restrict the access and the landscape buffer needed between the road and my house. There's no mentioning in the new plan, and we can't wait till it's too late to find out there's no plan to address it. I plan to attend tomorrow's city meeting to share any info you may need. I am looking forward to seeing the resolution of the issues, with your guidance. Thanks for your help.
