GlasKap® CR,Cool Roof Cap Sheet — The easiest way to Title 24 compliance
When compliance with California's Title 24 regulations is required, and a bituminous built-up roofing system (BUR)
is preferred, there is no easier solution than JM's GlasKap CR.
GlasKap CR is a white mineral surfaced, white acrylic coated, fiber glass cap sheet. It is used as the uppermost
finish ply in a variety of built-up.and'hybrid SBS roofing systems. The unique, UV-resistant coating provide . xtra
protection to the membrane and underlying asphalt. It provides a reflective, emissive surface that meets
California's Title 24 and LEED requirements.
With reflectivity rated at 0.76 and emissivity rated at 0.85, GlasKap CR meets all requirements fo
compliance with California's Title 24 regulations and qualifies for LEED points. GlasKap CR has strong U
and FM ratings for both fire and.wind uplift.

Before JM GlasKap CR,the options for achieving Title 24 compliance included applying a field coating ovggj
asphalt system, or switching to a TPO or PVC single ply system. Now with GlasKap CR,you have a sheet thtgf
manufactured by Johns Manville with full Title 24 compliance, and it installs like a standard BUR cap sheet.
GlasKap CR meets Title 24 requirements through the Standard Prescriptive Approach, which means a specifier,
contractor or building owner need only show that each building product meets or exceeds the re ipliy V
requirement. JM provides the product and the documentation. Q8

fits to the building and roofing industries. Many owners, specifiers and contractors are still most comfortable
with the multi-ply redundancy of an asphalt built-up roofing system.
GlasKap CR is an improved version of our proven GlasKap, with an enhanced top surfacing for added toughness
and Title 24 compliance. The white acrylic coating is factory applied over the mineral granules, increasing the
adhesion of the coating while retaining the protective benefits of the granules.
Tough,high UV-blocker content white acrylic
coating keeps the roof surface cool, providing Surfacing of white ceramic roofing
Title 24 compliance and protecting the asphalt granules increases adhesion of the white
from the longterm effects of the sun and heat acrylic coating and provides a redundant
layer of protection for the asphalt layer

the other roofing membrane components and below the fiber glass mat
While GlasKap CR provides the additional benefit of Title 24 compliance, it maintains all the benefits of standard

Brighter and whiter than traditional BUR—to keep the roof cooler
The greater reflectivity and emissivity of GlasKap CR means the roof stays cooler, resulting in lower energy con-
sumption and reduced demand during peak periods. The more solar energy that is reflected back to the sky, and
the more heat that can be shed from the surface, the less heat that gets transferred into the building.

Combining highly reflective and highly emissive roof surfacing with the proper amount of roof insulation can
significantly reduce heat gains inside the building.
Keeping the roof cooler has other advantages, as well. It helps prevent thermal shock: the sudden, drastic change
in roof temperature which can cause membrane fatigue.
More consistent quality than field-applied coating
With GlasKap CR,the quality is built in during the production process. A computer-controlled machine meters the
application rate. So the coating is evenly applied to the proper thickness over every square inch of the mem-
brane. During manufacture, the coating is dried under controlled conditions;whereas field-applied coating may
be exposed to adverse temperature, humidity or moisture before curing.
In addition, the factory-applied coating has 300% of the UV blockers of a regular field-applied white coating. It
simply does a better job protecting the membrane, slowing oil exudation from the plies and helping the roof to
perform like new longer.

Lower installed cost than field coating
Labor costs are lower because it doesn't take as long to install GlasKap CR as it takes to apply 3-4 gallons of
coating in two coats. When you install GlasKap CR the job is done. Expensive spray equipment is no longer
necessary. And you don't have to go back 30 to 60 days later to apply the coating as with many field-applied
coatings. Consequently, contractors don't have to wait 30 to 60 days longer to get paid.
The long-term costs of GlasKap CR can be lower, too. The consistent quality of the factory-applied coating means
fewer costly call-backs.And,.with GlasKap CR,the life of your BUR system is extended due to greater UV protec-
tion and the reducedfrequency of problems caused by thermal shock.
Simple touch-up and repair
GlasKap CR complies with Title 24 and LEED even if there is some bleed-out or tracking during installation. To
ensure a more aesthetically pleasing roof, end laps and side laps can easily be touched up.
If there should be any damage to the roof after installation, repairs can be made easily with standard methods.
Availability
GlasKap CR is readily available-in full truck quantities nationwide. It is manufactured by Johns Manville in our
Oklahoma City plant, and it is stocked at both our South Gate (Los Angeles) and Stockton locations. It is available
from JM distributors throughout the United States.
With all the JM,support that makes your life easier

BUBB 9 ASPHALT ODOR MITIGATION PLAN
•Good communication to Bubb 9 employees regarding project and expectations is important. This is
an asphalt based roof and even though we use "no smell" asphalt there will be some odors
noticeable. The asphalt is not toxic and we will have MSDS sheets on site as reference if anyone has
any questions.
• Apple to shut off HVAC systems on Friday evening before each work weekend.
• Statewide Roofing will cover with plastic all HVAC units and roof vents when asphalt is being
installed near by.
• Apple to re-start HVAC units at end of weekend work. We recommend opening doors for a couple
hours while HVAC units start back up. This will allow building to cycle fresh air before employees
go back to work. This may require security to be at building Sunday evenings (and Monday
evening 5/28) from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm or so.
•Odor will be strongest after first weekend. Following weekends will be much less.
• We will try and position the asphalt kettle on the site to be up wind from the building to reduce
wind blown odors. t R „® R1ff—NE:1

BUBB 9 ROOFING PROJECT NOTES
• Project will be done on weekends only (including Memorial Day 5/28/12).
• Project, weather permitting, is estimated to take 3 weekends Q work days). The majority f-the
work and labor hours will happen on the first weekend.
•Statewide will pull permit from City of Cupertino and manage inspections. Statewide to coordinate
with Apple for any inspections scheduled during the week. City may require an in-progress and
final inspection.
•There will be 6 - 12 roofers on the roof at any given time during the work days.
• Given that there is a residential development behind Bubb 9, work hours will be 8:00 am -6:00 pm
every day.
• We will monitor weather closely and will do temporary waterproofing if necessary to maintain a
watertight building.
• The roof being installed is an asphalt based 4 ply roofing system. During the roofing process there
will be some asphalt odors. We will do everything we can to keep the odor to a minimum. Please
see the odor mitigation plan attached.
• North side of building parking lot to be vacant on weekends during project if possible.
•Statewide will remove any ground materials and equipment before the work week begins. No
dumpsters or materials will be visible to employees during the week.
•There may be some deck replacement required during the project. Statewide will take pictures of
any plywood being replaced for documentation.
• We recommend a Apple/Statewide site walk prior to starting the project. This walk will identify
any other possible items to.note before the start. This walk should include an interior walk to make
sure there will be no interior disruption during the project.
• Statewide usually has a portable toilet delivered to the site for the duration of the project. Apple to
confirm if this is possible (allowed) for this project.
•Once roofing is complete project team will walk roof with Apple to create any punch list items.
Warranty and City inspections to be scheduled as well.
• Apple security to be on site at all times of project?
• HVAC units may need to be disconnected/reconnected. HVAC company should be on-call during
project work days. RRICIFIEVIED
