The Director reports his decision to the City Council and Planning Comnlission in time to allow an appeal of the decision within fourteen calendar days. DISCUSSION The applicant Apple Inc. is requesting to construct a concrete masonry block wall along the west fa�ade of the building to help attenuate the noise generated by street traffic from the testing equipments. The block wall will be 8'-8" tall sided with stucco and screened with approximate 3' tall landscaping in front. ACTION In accordance with Cupertino Municipal Code Section 19.164, the Director of Community Development deems the modification minor and approves the modification described in the plan set prepared by Reel Grobman, and consisting of seven sheets labeled A-0, AT0.1, AT1.0, A-2.1, Planning-1, and REF-1, last dated 7/11/12, except as may be modified by the conditions enumerated below. 1. PROPOSED BLOCK WALL The wall shall have a stucco finish surface as shown on the plans to match the existing building and shall be colored to match the existing building. 2. LANDSCAPING The proposed landscaping shall be installed in front of the block wall to minimize the visibility of the block wall and shall be consistent with the landscape plan. This approval of the modification is effective August 1,2012. The fourteen calendar day appeal period will expire on August 16,2012. Attachments: A.
