Dear Buildin.- Official:
In regard to the above referenced project, we made an on-site observation of the general
framing and noted several deficiencies that required correction for the purpose of having
an adequate support. We recommended providing new straps, clips, hold-downs, etc. as
needed. Several trips were made to the site in order to check the progress of correcting
the deficiencies.
This observation was general in nature and was performed in selected areas considered to
represent workmanship of overall construction. Our scope of services has been limited to
visually observe the esistin_ framing and to provide additional details and/or
recommendations deemed necessary to correct and have the framing meets the general
requirements of uniform building code.
This report does not relive the contractor from his liabilities and responsibilities of
conformance of construction with structural drawings, construction standards and
governing construction codes. y
The following areas were excluded fi•om our field investigation and therefore are not part
of this report:
I. Exterior shear walls nailing.
2. Roof and floor plywood plus nailing spacing.

After completion of our field investigation, it is our opinion that the overall framing at the
custom home is constructed in general conformance with requirements of the structural
drawings approved by the City of Cupertino. Building Department.

Subject: Installation of new hold-downs at existing foundation
Addition/Remodeling Home for Gollapudi Residence

Dear Building Official:
In regard to the above referenced project; our office representative made an on-site
observation of installation of new hold-downs at existing foundation at location shown on
the approved plans.
Our scope of services was limited to verify the depth of hole and to observe placement of
new epoxy at existing foundation. The folloxving conclusions are achieved after
completion of our field observation:
The size of' the holes, locations, depth and epoxy used are all in general conformance
with requirements of the approved plans by the City of Cupertino. Building Department.
Also, due to passage of mechanical duct throueh existing floor in living room area where
new post support the ridge beam above, the project contractor placed a 4x12 header at
bottom of wall over the opening with 5/8` diameter anchor bolt at each end to support the
post fur above. Per my field observation the overall connection appears to be in general
conformance with my provided sketch attached to this report.
