Dear Mayor Mahoney and Cupertino City Council Members,
The Cupertino Chamber of Commerce would like to express our concerns regarding Item#10 on tonight's Agenda. We
are concerned that stakeholders have not had enough to time fully review the potentially large increase in the
Engineering, Planning and Building fees proposed for 2013-14 and beyond. Please refer to the attached letter for
additional information.
Thank you in advance for considering our comments and concerns.
Best Regards,
Mark Matsumoto

I am writing to express our concerns regarding Item#10 on tonight's City Council agenda. services Inc.
This item proposes a substantial fee increase on the business community and the
Chamber would like additional time to gather feedback from those businesses impacted John Zirelli,Past President
by the new fees,as well as to perform our own analysis of the issue. Recology South Bay
The new fee schedule for Engineering,Plannin and Building fees proposes a minimum Darcy Paul,President Elect
Planning g p p Paul Law Group,A Professional
increase of 6.17%and a maximum increase of 9.17%.The City is expecting to generate an Corp.
additional$285,000 a year from this fee increase.
Mike Rohde,VP Special Events
Given the size of the fee increase, the Cupertino Chamber would like additional time for Vallco Shopping Mall
stakeholders to review this issue. The Chamber was only informed about the details of
this new fee schedule last Wednesday,March 27,2013 (prior to the Easter Weekend). If Rashel Yadegari,VP Membership
Development
this item is continued to a future council meeting,we also encourage the City to provide a First Tech Federal Credit Union
more robust notification to impacted parities of when such discussions will take place in
the future. Matt Wheeler,VP Finance
LMGW Public Accountants
We respectfully request the City Council to continue this item to the next City Council
Richard Abdalah,VP LAC
