SUBJECT AND ISSUE:
Approve the adoption of a resolution to refi~oacnvely apply the reduced photovoltaic
systems fee for quasi-public buildings to Af~ri11, 2007, Resolution 08-l~4.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the resolution retroactively applying the photovoltaic fee
reduction to quasi-public buildings that ha~c-e applied for such a permit in the last
eighteen months.
BACKGROUND
On October 7, 2008, Council adopted Resohition No: 08-134, which lowered quasi- .
public photovoltaic permit fees to $1123. Council further directed staff to bring back
before Council the issue of applying the reduced fee retroactively to the two churches
that have installed photovoltaic systems wii:hin the last eighteen months: Bethel
Lutheran Church and St. Jude's Episcopal Church.
FISCAL IMPACT
The retroactive application of the new phot~~voltaic systems permit fee will result in an
impact to the General Fund in the approximate amount of $8,988.00; $4,494.00 per
occurrence.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CUPERTINO RETROACTIVELY APPLYING THE
REDUCED PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM (SOLAR} FEE
FOR QUASI-PUBLIC BUILDINGS TO APRIL 1, 2007
WHEREAS, City Council adopted Resolution No. 0$-134 which established a category for
photovoltaic (solar) fees for quasi-public buildings;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
1. Photovoltaic Systems (Solar) for Quasi-Public Buildings shall be applied
retroactively to April 1, 2007. .
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cupertino
