Parking/Traffic Analysis
• Whole Foods parking supply significantly exceeds the
City's parking requirements (281 required, 376
provided)
• During the Special Event Whole Foods Parking lot
had little utilization and adequately accommodated
customer parking demands
• Traffic condition was found to be within acceptable
City standards and Kittle to no queues formed at the
parking lot entrances.
Planning Commission Hearing
• On January 28, 2014, the P14-3nning Commission
approved the use permit application on a 4 -1 vote.
— A Commissioner expressed concerns about potential traffic
impacts and congestion on Stevens Creek Boulevard.
— Another Commissioner was concerned with the aesthetics of
the food trucks and whether they were a good fit for Cupertino
— A representative from the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce
stated concerns related to potential impacts on the local
restaurants.

Key Conditions
• Should parking demand for the site exceed the
parking supply the applicant is required to come back
to obtain another Use Permit to create a formal
shared parking agreement.
• The use permit shall be reviewed after six months
from the date of approval.
• For the first six months of operation, the location of
the event shall be in the second parking aisle closest
to Stevens Creek Boulevard„
Key Conditions Cont.
• A parking attendant will be present to direct traffic
for the first month of operation.
• No alcohol shall be permitted unless approved by
Planning Commission.
• The event shall not operate *the week of Christmas
and Thanksgiving.
