PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
At 7:010 p.m., Chair Michael Sanchez called the meeting to order,in Conference Room C,
10300 Torre Avenue,Cupertino,California;and led the_Pledge:of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chairperson Michael Sanchez, Vice Chair Rajeswarf Mahalingam and
Commissioners jessi Kaur,Russell Leong, and Diana Matley.
STAFF REPORT
Teen Commission gave annual update at the last City Council meeting and one of the
monthly activities they mentioned is an art event on May 111h.

1. Select Finalists for Reusable Bag Student Art.Competition
Cupertino enacted a reusable bag ordinance in October 2013. The city and the Chamber
of Commerce have partnered together to sponsor an art student contest in which the
chosen art-will be featured on reusable bags That will be available to purchase at local
Cupertino businesses. judging criteria included boldness (printability), message and
creativity.
One finalist and one runner up for each of the categories, Kindergarten.to 41h grades, 51h
to 8'h grades and 91h to 121h grades, was chosen by the commission and sent to the Public
Works Department. In addition, the Commission als&selected an Honorable Mention in
each of the categories. The winners and runners up were to be announced at the City's
Earth Day Festival on April 5, 2014 The winners are:
Indira Abhyahker,,age 9, from Eaton Elementary School
Dhriti Molukolta, age 9, from Collins.Elementary School
Shanlea Tabofunda, age 10, from Faria Elementary School
Isha Venkatesh, ate 10, from Collins Elementary School
