CC Resolution No. 02-028RESOLUTION NO. 02-028 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO IN SUPPORT OF PROPOSITION 42 WHEREAS, a coalition of cities throughout California is coming together to support Proposition 42, the Transportation Congestion Improvement Act on the March 5, 2002 statewide ballot; and WHEREAS, Proposition 42 is based on the principle that taxes paid at the gas pump should be used for transportation purposes; and WHEREAS, Proposition 42 would allocate a portion of the existing state sales tax on gasoline to cities and counties to be used for transportation improvement; and WHEREAS, Proposition 42 is an important measure for all cities and counties as it would provide a much-needed ongoing reliable source of funding for streets, roads and other transportation projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cupertino City Council supports Proposition 42.
