Dear Mr. Mayor and City Council members,
I am writing to request amendment of parking ordinance for single family homes to allow single-ca r
garages for existing homes. Our neighborhood in Rancho Rinconada was developed with single-car
garages and still has several hundred single car garages. The ordinance designates these as non-
conforming and homeowners are restricted from repairing such garages when they fall victim to dry
rot, termites and mold. Homeowners of existing homes are therefore left with very few options. So
the non -conforming ordinance is very restrictive and I'm requesting that the parking ordinance be
amended so the existing homes that are built with one car garage can continue to keeping those but
when a new home is built then homeowners need to go to a two car garage .
