The work commenced with the general removal and stockpiling of the organi- cally contaminated topsoil. This material is to be used at a later date for landscaping purposes.' The area designated to receive engineered fill was stripped of all organic material and the exposed surface was scarified • to a minimum depth of 8 inches and recompacted to 90% relative compaction in accordance with the soil investigation report prepared by our firm, File No. 5-909-S1 dated August 22, 1975. Field density tests performed by our firm indicated that adequate compac- tion was being obtained on the building pad areas during grading operations. The results of these tests, on which acceptance is based, show values in excess of 90% relative compaction for native soil according to the labora- tory compaction test procedure ASTM D1557-70. d In summary, the proposed building pads (Lots 7 and 8) are now acceptably'com- pleted according to field grade stakes and the recommendations of the previously mentioned soil investigation report, and are ready to receive building improvements.
