MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER
Carol Atwood called the meeting to order at 7:41 a.m. in Conference Room A of Cupertino
City Hall, 10300 Torre Avenue.

Members Present: Council members Lauralee Sorensen and John Bautista; Administrative
Services Director Carol Atwood; and City Manager Don Brown. Absent: Community
Representative Tom Hall. '

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
None.

NEW BUSINESS
a.
Carol At\,',)d reviewed the request for proposal (RFP) process for the City Auditors. It
was suggested that the City solicit RFPs from larger firms only due to their commitment to
training of their employees. The Committee concurred.
The RFP will be mailed the end of March with a due date of late April. Reference checks
will be performed and a short list of qualified firms will be submitted to the Audit
Committee for their review and approval. Fees will be considered once a qualified short list
is çompiled.
b.
John Bautista requested earlier distribution of the 95/96 operating budget and an additional
study session. Proposed revisions to the budget calendar are as follows:
Distribution to City Council- May 15
Study Session - May 22
Study Session - May 31
Public Hearing - June 5
Public Hearing - June 19
c.
John Bautista requested that the department budgets be reviewed from a program perspective
this next year. Don Brown will discuss this concept at the annual management retreat and
report back to the Committee.
