Existing wall section to be removed is 2'-11" and unlikely to be braced wall. New framed wall to be added is 2'-2". Proposed framed wall loss is 9" (2% of entire structure elevation). It is assumed that a shear wall (or BWP) would be place on the longer sections of wall and not in the section that is proposed to be removed. Additionally, relatively only 2% (9" of 435") of entire elevation is to become new opening. Based on existing site conditions and proposed designs, the proposed remodel does not appear to affect the shear integrity of the exterior elevation in a manner that would be raise a concern.
