Called a NEMA 14-30, this outlet is commonly used for newer electric dryers. To utilize this outlet, purchase the NEMA 14-30 adapter from the Tesla website. The NEMA 14-30 outlet is best installed in situations where the electrical system cannot accommodate the power demands of the NEMA 14-50 outlet. This outlet will provide a maximum of 24 amps to the vehicle, resulting in recharge speeds of about 17 miles per hour for Model S and about 15 miles per hour for Model X. Typically, this recharge rate is more than enough to top off the battery overnight.
