between Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, the People's Republic of China and
City of Cupertino, California,the United States of America
For the purpose of developing and deepening mutual friendship and actively promoting the
cooperation between the two municipal governments , based on friendly consultation, both
parties have reached the following consensus on the establishment of friendly exchanges
between Nanchang and Cupertino .
1. Based on the principles of equality , mutual benefit and voluntariness , both parties will
actively promote friendl y exchanges between people of Nanchang and Cupertino .
2. Both parties will exchange information in various fields of economy , culture , education,
innovation, entrepreneurship etc.
3. Both parties will actively facilitate mutual exchanges in the fields of education and culture ,
in view of establishing long te1m friendl y cooperation relationship , furthermore to establish
sister-city relationship .
4. This MOU is written in both Chinese and English in two duplicates. Both copies are
equally authentic and are valid upon the signing by representatives of each party.
5. The term of validity of this MOU is 2 years. When the MOU is expired , it could be
extended unless it is terminated by one side or that both parties have officially established the
sister-city relationship.
