NEW BUSINESS
2. Amendment to Chapter 19.08.030 and 19.80.030 (recreetional/accessory stmetrures)
This item was brought to the attention of the depa~huent because of a code enforcement action on
a residential tree house. Historically, tree houses are subject to setbacks as recreational structures.
Therefore the Planning Depa~m~ent is proposing to exempt ireehouses from reguhtions
completely and to exempt free-standing play s~ructures and to make it easier for fixed play
slructures to be in setback area under certa'm conditions. Those conditions being: 1) three feet
from property line, 2) if on a corner, the impact of privacy to neighbor will be non-existent, 3) if
adjacent property owner okays, tree house could be approved.
Recommendation is negative declaration
