• January 24 -Santa Clara Valley Water District Board
voted to continue its call for water use reductions of 20
percent compared to 2013 water use.
• February -Water retailers drop drought allocations
and surcharges.
• April 7 -Governor Brown issues executive order
terminating drought em~rgency.
• April 26 -State Water Board rescinds mandatory
conservation standards.

Municipal Code 15.32 Water C-onservation
Prohibit the following:
• No person shall waste water, including, but not limited to flooding or creating
runoff on sidewalks or gutters, adjacent property, non-irrigated areas, private
and public walkways, roadways, parking lots, or structures.
• No person shall use a hose that dispenses potable water to wash vehicles,
including cars, trucks, buses, boats, aircraft, and trailers, whether motorized or
not, unless the hose is fitted with a shut-off nozzle or device attached to it that
causes it to cease dispensing water immediately when not in use.
! No person shall waste water by failing to repair defective plumbing, sprinkler,
watering or irrigation systems.
• No person shall use water for single pass cooling process for new building
construction.

Prohibit the following:
• Hosing off sidewalks, driveways and other hardscapes;
• Using outdoor irrigation during and 48 hours after measureable rainfall;
• The irrigation with potable water of ornamental turf on public street medians;

• Using potable water in decorative water features that do not re-circulate the water;
• Limit outdoor irrigation of ornamental landscapes or turf with potable water to no
more than three days per week. Irrigation will be allowed on Monday, Thursday &
Saturday for odd number addresses and numberless addresses; and Tuesday,
Friday & Sunday for even number addresses;

For 20% conservation measure:
• Reduce water programming of all outside irrigation by a minimum of 20%
• No filling of Memorial Park ponds
• Reduce operational hours of interactive fountain at Community Hall from 1 OAM-
8PM to Noon -6PM
