To Whom It May Concern
Neighbors within 300' of the proposed project by Verizon have received a certified mail, postmarked
April 21, 2017, regarding "Permit Submittal Notice-Verizon Site Number: SF _CUPER018".
We protest against all the installations mentioned in the proposal and do not want the City of Cupertino
to give the permit to Verizon for working on this project.
Cell phone towers emit high-frequency radio waves, or microwaves, that can travel as far as 45 miles
over level terrain and of course, they easily penetrate brick and metal. The closer you are, the greater
the danger. Mobile towers are especially dangerous because they emit microwaves at a frequency of
1900 MHz (a frequency higher than radio waves). Recent studies have shown that the intense
radioactivity from mobile phone towers adversely impacts every biological organism within one square
kilometer. The microwaves from cell phone towers can interfere with your body's own Electro Magnetic
Fields, causing a variety of potential health problems, including:
• Headaches
• Memory loss
• Cardiovascular stress
• Low sperm count
• Birth defects
• Cancer
Our health and our children's health will be at stake if permission for this project is given. Hence, we all
are signing this petition and humbly request you to not let Verizon work on this project.
We are willing to meet with you if needed. Please let us know your response at the following address:

Verizon Wireless
Mr Kevin Bowyer
240 Stockton St. 3rd Floor
San Francisco, Ca 94108
Mr Bowyer,
My name is Cecelia Massey Attix. I live in Cupertino and own several properties adjacent to the Verizon
Wireless Equipment that you are proposing to upgrade located at the intersection of Cleo Ave and
Gardenside Lane. The Verizon Site Number is SF _CUPER018.
I want to make it very clear with you and the City of Cupertino ( Chad Mosley, PE 408-777-7604) that I do
not approve of this change and will vigorously oppose it.
The following are my reasons for my vigorous opposition:
• Most importantly, this is a residential area with families and small children.
• This should be installed in a Commercially Zoned Area not a residential area. Question-Have
potential alternate Commercial installation areas been explored and evaluated for this
installation?
• Several of the nearby homes have been provided by Habitat for Humanity. The residents of those
homes also vigorously oppose the installation as is evidenced by their signatures below.
• Concern for the Local Residence's Health-Electromagnetic Microwave Radiation Exposure can
possibly lead to a variety of medical problems including Birth Defects, Cancer, Memory Loss,
Headaches and Immune System Problems. There is extensive documentation regarding these
concerns on the web.
• I might also point out that neither myself or the other residents in the area received any
notification of the existing installation. We wish to have the existing installation removed also.
Summary
We know this installation poses risk to the local residents and is not in the best interest of the
community.
This installation should not be installed in a residential area. It should be put in a commercial area.
The existing installation should be also be relocated to a commercial area.
Is Verizon willing to accept responsibility for health issues that may arise from this installation?
Please give me a written response to these concerns and requests by May 10, 2017.
Sincerely,
Cecelia Massey Attix ~ -

CAC Needs to Define
the Community
Quantitative Sampling
• Solicit actual spending data from various demographics, using
2016 year end credit card statements
• Aggregate and profile
Qualitative study
• In-person interviews -what drives buying decisions?
• Fine tune demographics for CAC
Why wouldn 1t you ask the community how they are
spending their money?
