SUBJECT: Proposed, Installation of a Mobile Home at the Cupertino Church of
Nazarene for Use as a Classroom.
Unit Size: 24' x 60', total 1440 sq. ft.
Fire Zone 3; Type of Construction: 5 N. Hr.
Occupancy: C-1; Occupant Load: 72
The following code items are pertinent to this installation:
1. Calculations will be required for anchoring the structure and to insure
compliance with the code for wind loads and earthquake. Chapter 23,
1973 U.B.C.
2. Building code requires egress by means of ramps for the handicapped.
Table 33-A, 1973 U.B.C.
3. All storage and janitor closets shall be one hour enclosures. Sec. 802(c),
1973 U.B.C.
4. Clear access to publicway shall be maintained. Minimum 20 ft. wide.

5. Heater rooms shall be separated from the main structure by a one hour
fire resistant occupancy separation. Sec. 8.07, Title 19.
6. Roofs required to be fire retardant. Sec. 1704, 1973 U.B.C.
7. A fire alarm system is required consisting of a local alarm with pull -box.

8. Two exits will be required for egress. Table 33-A, 1973 U.B.C.
All exit doors require free opening hardware. Sec. 3303(c), 1973 U.C.
9. One 2-AlOBC fire extinguisher required, mounted so that the top is not
more than 5 feet above finish floor.
10. All curtains and drapes shall be fire retardant and proof of such shall be
presented to this department. Sec. 8.21, Title 19.

11. Rest room facilities shall be provided at the rate of one water closet for
each 100 boys, plus one urinal for each 30 and one water closet for every
35 girls. One lavatory for every 2 water closets or urinals. Chapter 8,
1973 U.B.C.
12. Minimum building setbacks shall be 20 feet. Sec. 803, 1973 U.B.C.
